Chat Messages: End-to-end encrypted communication.
SOS Alerts: Event metadata including precise location.
Customer Support: Query-related communications. 

b. Information Collected Automatically:
Location Data: Real-time GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell tower data, including offline location sync. – Device Info: Device ID, type, OS version, battery level, network status, and speed.
App Usage: Feature access, session durations, and crash logs.
Geofence Logs: Entry/exit data and timestamps.
Notification Data: Status of delivery and receipt. 

2. How We Use Your Information 

We use the data to:
– Operate and improve our services (e.g., maps, tracking, alerts).
– Ensure child safety and alert parents in real-time.
– Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and develop new features. – Communicate with you about updates, support, and system alerts. – Process subscriptions securely via third-party payment providers. – Meet legal and contractual obligations. 

3. How We Share Your Information 

We do not sell or rent your information. 

We may share: 

With Linked Parent Accounts: Shared access to child profiles, location, and chat. – With Service Providers: For hosting, notifications, mapping, analytics, etc.
In Business Transfers: During a merger or acquisition, with prior notice.
To Protect Rights: Where necessary to protect LocaSee, our users, or the public. 

4. Data Retention 

We retain information only as long as necessary:
– Journey and chat history may be stored up to 90 days or as per your subscription plan. – After this period, data is deleted unless required by legal obligations. 

5. Your Rights and Choices 

You can:
– Control Location Access via device settings.
– Manage Notifications via system settings.
– Update or Delete Account Info through the Parent App.
– Request Access or Deletion of your data (subject to applicable laws). – Withdraw Consent for optional data processing.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR) 

LocaSee is for use by parents or legal guardians. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13 (COPPA) or under 16 in jurisdictions where GDPR applies, without verifiable parental consent. 

All child data (e.g., location) is collected only after parental setup and approval. If we learn we’ve collected child data without consent, we will delete it immediately. 

7. Security 

We use industry-standard security measures: 

– End-to-End Encryption for chats.
– Secure storage with restricted access. – Data minimization and audit logging. 

Despite safeguards, no system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. 

8. International Transfers 

Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the European Union or United States, where data protection laws may differ. 

We ensure all cross-border transfers use legal mechanisms like Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and enforce strict safeguards. 

9. Changes to This Policy 

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We’ll notify users by: – Posting in-app notices and website banners.
– Updating the “Last Updated” date above. 

Your continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
